At Malin Bridge Primary School we believe that extended learning, sometimes also called extra-curricular opportunities, play a key role in the development of our children. Sebastian has been running Code Club at our school since April 2013 and since then the club has become very popular amongst our pupils. We have 16 "code-clubbers" on average and since we've started we have been working on a numerous different projects. We've been creating games and applications using Scratch, we have learnt how to build websites and now we also started learning about hardware and how you can control it with our in-house built software using Raspberry Pi and Arduino electronic platform! Our club runs every Wednesday, from 3:30 - 4:30 during term time. If you'd like to get involved or just see what we do then just get in touch and we will arrange a visit for you!
Our network of Star Clubs are happy to welcome visitors and you can expect a friendly and enthusiastic greeting from the adults and kids who take part in the club.
You can take the visit at your own pace - feel free to sit at the side and observe or get stuck straight in answering questions and working on the projects alongside the children.
Make sure that you let the teacher and volunteer carry on with their club as normal - save up your questions for after the children have left.
